Links

I am using this page as a reference for myself and to provide information to other readers of this blog.  If I have found an interesting site of less general interest, I may include it in the main blog but not on this page.  Some sites I have chanced on have yielded some pictures, links to those will be found in the Gallery Page.

The first links must be for Steam Traction World who make the Lykamobile kits:

On their web site, there is also a link to their forum.

A previous builder of Locomobile replicas was a gentleman by the name of Rick Stoeber, who recorded his experiences in fine detail at http://memoriesdreams.com/locomobile.htm  (and more than I would aspire to in this blog).  These same exploits are also available on the Steam Car Club website  http://www.steamcar.nethttp://www.steamcar.net/kit-1.html .

The Steam Car Club web site is a mine of information: there is lots of it, and you may have to dig for some of the less obvious nuggets.
Other builders with blogs include:

I invite those who are interested in my exploits to give a small donation to Charity via Just Giving.  https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/alansloco
Suppliers of consumables.

Suppliers of consumables, materials and tools will vary for each owner, use of Google or local Yellow Pages will reveal those who are convenient.  As it’s over a year away, the availability may change, but it’s worth considering how best to acquire:

·         Fuel (kerosene/paraffin; Diesel);

·         Steam Cylinder Oil;

·         Boiler water conditioners;

·         Any other special lubricants/ sealants for steam at up to 250psi;

·         Brake pads, tyres/ repairs.
